San Diego Chargers fans recall being spurned by Eli Manning at the NFL draft back in the April 2004. Older brother Peyton Manning was booed loudly as he trotted onto the field during pregame introductions in San Diego for the a summer 2004 preseason game against Indianapolis.
In 2005 the Chargers beat both of the Manning brothers. On September 25, the Chargers defeated Eli Manning and the Giants 45 to 23 and on December 18, the Chargers crushed Peyton Manning and the Colts hopes for a perfect season at Indianapolis, 26 to 17. Go Bolts!
December 2006 The three players acquired in the Eli Manning trade in April 2004 all made the Pro Bowl - linebacker Shawne Merriman (for the second time), kicker Nate Kaeding and first-year starting quarterback Philip Rivers. No hulas for Eli!
November 2007 It's kharma Colt's fans as your team loses again to the Bolts - 23 to 21 - on a November 11 Sunday night game in front of a national audience.
January 2008 It's the playoffs and Charger Power rules yet again in a 28-24 victory over the over-rated Colts. The Chargers - with backups substituting for injured starters LaDainian Tomlinson and Philip Rivers - defeat Indianapolis for the third straight time to move on to the AFC championship game!
November 2010 Manning is intercepted four times, two of them returned for touchdowns in a Chargers 36-14 rout of the Colts on a Sunday night, Indy's worst home loss in the Manning era. The best moment of the game was when NBC played the disco inspired Super Chargers song to a national audience on a break to commercial.
December 2013 Manning brothers Peyton and Eli lose to the Chargers in back-to-back games with the Giants (Bolts win 37-14) and Broncos (Bolts win 27-20)!
