San Diego Charger fans recall being spurned by Eli Manning at the NFL draft back in the April 2004. Older brother Peyton Manning was booed loudly as he trotted onto the field during pregame introductions in San Diego for the a summer 2004 preseason game against Indianapolis. In 2005 the Chargers beat both of the Manning brothers. On September 25, the Chargers defeated Eli Manning and the Giants 45 to 23 and on December 18, the Chargers crushed Peyton Manning and the Colts hopes for a perfect season at Indianapolis, 26 to 17. December 2006 update: The three players acquired in the Eli Manning trade in April 2004 all made the Pro Bowl – linebacker Shawne Merriman (for the second time), kicker Nate Kaeding and first-year starting quarterback Philip Rivers.
